  My main area of interest is the development of hardware and software/firmware for embedded systems. I am most familiar with the C, C++, and Java programming languages and I've dabbled in other languages like C#, and even Forth. In my spare time I spend time with the family, play guitar (currently playing bass guitar weekly with the Praise Team at Risen Savior Lutheran Church), and I tinker in my home lab designing various electronic hardware and software projects. At home I'm working on a datalogger which is based on the Silicon Labs Thunderboard Sense. I'm redesigning it to show measurements on a TFT, log data to memory, and detect event conditions. I've also redesigned the Android App to allow for configuring the device and viewing the data and log. And if that isn't enough, I've also designed a Java PC application that provides advanced configuration and control. At work, I just finished up the firmware of the new AxiEM3 electromagnetic surgical instrument tracker, and now I am investigating the hardware which may be used in the sister products of the S8 navigation system. Very soon I'll be working on a new robot called the "Autoguide". Specialties: firmware, microcontrollers, Linux, C, C++, Java, Microchip PIC, Atmel AVR, ARM, DSP, Bluetooth, ZigBee, USB, LonWorks - though it's been a while.
