Dr. Kim’s research objectives while with NREL, are with MEG (Multiple Exciton Generation) of Nano-semiconductor materials (Quantum Dots) in theory and experimental applications; Synthesis of Cadmium, Cadmium free based semiconductor materials (InP, CdSe), near infrared semiconductors (PbS, PbSe, CuInTe2-xSex..) and their surface chemistry (Halide treatment), along with fabrication of quantum dots solar cells and quantum dot-light-emitting diode devices and their performance.
