I have work experience in both High Voltage Electrical Control Center operations and Hydro-electric Plant Operations. During this time a took a 3.5 year Apprenticeship with BC Hydro on Power system Operations and became a Journeyman in 2002. I worked with BC Hydro for 15 years and decided to make a change and try something a little bit different. I moved to Churchill Falls In Labrador and started working as a Plant Operator with Nalcor Energy. This is a major generating Station which produces approx. 5600 MW of electricity. My wife and I decided that this location was too isolated and decided to take a job with Suncor Energy as an Electrical Power System Operator. I have since become a NERC certified Transmission Operator which is required to Operate the High Voltage Electrically integrated power system throughout North America.
