This experience was essential for Tom to realize his dream of running his own business. In 1985 Tom started his own machine tool distributorship, Schweda Machinery Sales. Mitsubishi’s Dealer of the Century and Dealer of the Year – 12 times! In January of 2005 Tom finalized a deal to sell his company to Concept Machine Tool Sales as he would now become part of a 16 state distributor network.Sales. With Tom’s understanding of what it is like to be a sole proprietor, building a business from the ground up, and having been also thrown into negotiations on multi-faceted systems pulling together multiple suppliers from various locations around the world. He has not done this alone as he prides himself on hiring only the best people in the industry to support his customers. Tom has always promoted the machine tool industry by being a targeted speaker for several associations including the Machinery Dealers National Association, SME and the Milwaukee World Trade Association.
