Prior to FMA, he was the first head of operations for Democracy Fund, a private foundation created by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar, and spent time at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, a variety of family and community foundations, and Candid. He got a deep dive in philanthropy while pursuing an M.A. in Philanthropic Studies at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University where he focused his research on LGBTQ philanthropy, and he received his B.A. in Nonprofit Leadership and Business Administration at William Jewell College. He is a member of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy Alumni Board of Directors and the GivingTuesday Data Common Advisory Committee. He also serves as a Partner at Social Venture Partners Boston.
