He served as an associate editor and a guest editor of special issues in journals including Neurocomputing and IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals. Currently he serves as an associate editor of IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks. Since 2016, he has served as a member-at-large of board of governors, APSIPA.
