I founded the Sage-ing Institute with an exciting group of colleagues focused on working with organisations to understand, explore and tap into the wisdom that comes from having four quite different generations in the workplace. This is sitting alongside New Zealand having the second largest ageing workforce in the OECD and most organisations not having a plan in place to deal with the future and what that might hold. This is a great opportunity to bring all of the generations together and to create creative solutions that truly engage people in their workplaces. We also work with individuals working through personal change so that whatever your stage and age you have access to the tools and expertise to get the most out of your life. My second job is continuing my career in Change, supporting internal teams to deliver on difficult challenges. I am passionate about helping NZ employers and employees adapt and shift in response to changes in life and in work. Whether these changes come about through economic challenges such as the ageing workforce or through the impact of technology shifting jobs and opportunities from one sector to another my background in change, building capability and helping create adaptive cultures means that this is my home ground. The book is the story of my time at Unitec, through a transformation which started out with such promise and went altogether in the other direction. There are lots of lessons here and it is story that needs telling, when I get a moment to finish it.
