Students of Mr. Avellaneda have gone on to pursue degrees in music performance, professional artists signed by major record labels, and serve as Music Educators. Walter has been interviewed multiple times by the Merrick Life, Bellmore-Merrick Herald, Newsday, and most recently appeared on News12 for his work with the Kennedy HS Wind Ensemble in preparation for their performance at JEB Fort Story-Little Creek.
