  Having spent my career in advertising and marketing, I am currently analysing the research I conducted on Older Women, Younger (OWYM) Men Relationships. While much is reported in the press about celebrity OWYM relationships, and “cougars” preying on “toyboys”, there is a dearth of sensible research on established, long term, committed relationships. Having completed the quota of 60 interviews with both the female and male partners, in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States, I am seeing patterns and trends which should make for a very interesting book. I am very comfortable with this project for several reasons. Firstly my educational background of a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology, followed by a Masters of Commerce in Marketing and Organisation Behaviour has been highly pertinent. Secondly my long career in advertising in major international agencies such as McCann Erickson, J Walter Thompson, Foote, Cone and Belding, Young and Rubicam, Bates and Saatchi and Saatchi culminating in being Director of Client Services and shareholder in a local Sydney agency, exposed me to research into more than 120 brands and 60 client businesses. Having won a national Telstra Australian Business Women's Award for businesses with under 100 employees, this was followed by 15 years of marketing consulting during which the most rewarding projects involved in depth interviews with client representatives, stakeholders and customers, data analysis and 100 page marketing plans with recommendations on everything from branding, through to product, pricing, promotion and distribution. Finally, there is an intrinsic appeal in talking to other OWYM couples, having been married to my own OWYM partner for over 20 years. My other major project involves Doughnut Economics Advocates New Zealand. DEANZ is based on a movement started by the Oxford University economist Kate Raworth. The aim is for the planet to live within acceptable environmental boundaries while meeting essential social needs. The sweet spot is in the shape of a doughnut. The idea is if you stretch the planet’s resources too far, you fall off the outside edge of the doughnut. If you fail to meet basic social needs (like food, water, health education, housing and justice) you fall into the hole in the middle of the doughnut. DEANZ was established in New Zealand, to encourage attitude and behavioural change from a growth-led to a sustainability-led economy.
