From 2007 to 2009 she held an IC (Intelligence Community) Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Sandia National Laboratories (Albuquerque, NM) where she worked on the development of terahertz metamaterials as building blocks for terahertz devices (1 terahertz corresponds to a wavelength of 300 microns). Dr. Peralta’s research interests are centered on understanding the physical and electromagnetic interactions between different wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation and both, materials and biological systems at various spatial scales.
