Yogan Khatri’s Expertise Bioinformatics analysis of genomic-database and mining them to produce engineered enzymes as biocatalysts for the chemoenzymatic synthesis of fine chemicals and pharmaceutical derivatives to overcome issues of traditional organic synthesis is what I am working on more than a decade! Having scientific talks and presentations across the world (United Kingdom, Japan, China, Italy, France, Germany, United States and Nepal), and the testimonies of more than 45 well cited high impact scientific publications made me an accomplished ‘Protein’ Scientist. After having a very first publication in the Cell Chemical Biology as a principal-author (2010) supervised by esteemed Profs Dr. Rita Bernhardt and Dr. Rolf Müller, Saarbrücken, Germany (DAAD fellow), I molded myself in the research field of ‘gene-to-protein’ and worked on the several bacterial, bovine and human oxidoreductase enzymes to understand their physiological, biotechnological, and pharmaceutical potential. After getting 2 years of Postdoctoral training on ‘studying Nanodiscs incorporated human membrane proteins’ with an eminent Swanlund Prof. Dr. Stephen Sligar, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, USA, picked-me-up as an esteemed Scientist and returned back to Germany (University of Saarbrücken), where I worked on understanding bioinformatics, genetic, biochemical, biophysical, in silico docking and X-ray crystallography to deorphanize soluble and membrane proteins. Scientific journey did not hold me long in Germany, and my ‘gene-to-protein’ thrust dragged me back to the United States and worked as a Research Fellow with an esteemed Hans W. Vahlteich Professor. Dr. David H Sherman, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, for 3 years, where I embused myself in the field of ‘Natural Product’ mining biosynthetic gene clusters to reveal the power of ‘Chemoenzymatic method’ and "CFPS/in vitro Transcription Translation Assay (TT-assay)" as a tool for a drug discovery. Getting all those academic research experiences, in January 2020, I employed as a Protein Core Scientist in Cayman Chemical, Ann Arbor, USA, to explore more about protein! Currently, I am blending my academic experiences to explore industrial ‘protein-thrust’!
